Episode #5 with Beth Theissen - Chatting environmental policy, gender equity and reconciliation

“I'm a prairie-born settler from Treaty 6 land now living on unceded Coast Salish territory. I found my way to sustainability and reconciliation work in the final years of undergrad studying international development at the University of Saskatchewan when my interests shifted to the development issues facing many Indigenous communities in Canada. I became interested how space and place impact the decisions we make about the environment. I returned to the University of Saskatchewan after a few years off to do my Master of Arts in geography and happily found myself in a new study area, environmental assessment, and got to work with the Nunavut Impact Assessment Board on my thesis. I currently work in environmental policy in British Columbia.” ~ Bethany Thiessen
